Job Title: Financial Controller (Operations-Focused)
Company: Modern Air Filtration

About Us:
Modern Air Filtration is a fast-growing manufacturing and distribution company focused on high-quality air filtration products. We operate in a high-volume, detail-sensitive environment where precision, accountability, and speed matter.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Controller who goes beyond traditional accounting. This role is responsible not only for financial oversight, but also for ensuring operational accuracy across order flow, production coordination, and internal processes.

This is a hands-on role for someone who notices what others miss, enforces structure, and ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Accounting:
  • Oversee all accounting functions (AP/AR, payroll, general ledger)
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor cash flow, margins, and cost controls.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Operational Oversight:
  • Audit incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and correct errors, discrepancies, and missing information.
  • Ensure orders are properly entered, tracked, and fulfilled without breakdowns.
  • Monitor workflow between sales, office staff, and production.

Production & Process Control:
  • Work closely with production to ensure orders are clear and executable.
  • Flag inconsistencies between orders, specs, and production output.
  • Improve systems to reduce mistakes and inefficiencies.
  • Enforce accountability across teams.

Systems & Process Improvement:
  • Build and refine SOPs for order handling and internal workflows.
  • Implement checks and balances to prevent recurring errors.
  • Create reporting dashboards to track operational accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong accounting/finance background (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • Extremely detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or operations is a major asset - 3 to 5 year Canadian experience.
  • Naturally proactive — you don’t wait for problems, you find them.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to hold teams accountable.
  • Comfortable working across finance, operations, and production.

Who This Role Is For:
  • Someone who enjoys catching mistakes and fixing broken systems.
  • Someone who thrives in structured, high-accountability environments.
  • Someone who can bridge the gap between numbers and real-world operations.

Who This Role Is NOT For:
  • Someone who only wants a desk-based accounting role.
  • Someone who avoids confrontation or enforcing standards.
  • Someone who overlooks details or tolerates inefficiencies.

Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience.

How to Apply:
Send your resume along with a brief note explaining how you’ve improved processes or reduced errors in a previous role.
