MRP & Production Planning Specialist

We are looking for a highly organized and analytical MRP & Production Planning Specialist to help manage inventory planning, production scheduling, procurement coordination, and manufacturing workflows across our operations.
Position Summary:
The MRP & Production Planning Specialist will be responsible for managing material requirements planning (MRP), forecasting inventory needs, coordinating production schedules, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring efficient manufacturing operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving operational problems through planning, systems, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Create and manage production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Coordinate production timelines with operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
- Optimize production flow to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
- Manage MRP systems to ensure accurate inventory and production planning.
- Generate purchase and production requirements based on demand forecasts.
- Maintain accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials), routing structures, and inventory records.
- Analyze inventory usage trends and recommend reorder points and safety stock levels.
- Prevent stockouts and reduce excess inventory.
Inventory & Procurement Coordination:
- Work closely with purchasing teams to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and packaging.
- Track incoming materials and production readiness.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle counts and audits.
- Identify material shortages and proactively resolve supply chain issues.
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Develop reports and KPIs related to production efficiency, inventory turnover, fulfillment, and material usage.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Support ERP/MRP implementation, optimization, and data accuracy initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, warehouse, procurement, and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2+ years experience in production planning, MRP, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and inventory management.
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, HVAC, filtration, or related industries.
- Knowledge of BOM structures, routing logic, and production costing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or process optimization.
- Familiarity with forecasting and demand planning.
